Southeastern Farm Equipment

Southern Comfort Mechanical won the bid to install a geothermal system in the Southeastern Farm Equipment dealership in Steinbach. The building is 40,000 sq. ft., heated predominantly with geothermal radiant floor heat. The 20,000 sq.ft. shop area and 10,000 sq. ft. parts area are heated with radiant flooring, and the 10,000 sq/ft office area is heated and cooled with geothermal water to air systems.

Proper ventilation of the building requires an airflow of 14,700 CFM (cubic feet per minute). Installing additional geothermal heating capacity to heat this air would have been prohibitively expensive. Instead, we designed a direct fired gas air makeup system to reduce the capital cost of the system. To supply the heat pumps, the system required two water wells to be drilled to supply the heat pumps, and two wells drilled to accept the return water.
